The Kali Ghat in the city of Kolkata saw the birth of Rajnarayan Dube in 1910 on 10th October. He was an alumni of the first oldest modern educational institution in Asia “Hindu School Kolkata (established in January 20, 1817, by Raja Rammohan Roy and others)”.
Rajnarayan Dube‘s grandfather Brahmadev Dube was one of the closest associates of the greatest revolutionary Chapekar Brothers and a prestigious wrestler of that era. He used to teach the students of Akhada.
His father Seth Badriprasad Dube was one of the prestigious business tycoons Of Kolkata & Mumbai. Rajnarayan Dube started early at a young age of 16. Moving to Bombay was the first step of his journey.
In Bombay where his father Seth Badriprasad Dube, a business tycoon who had a running business of financial services got great help with his joining. After starting young Rajnarayan Dube with the guidance of his father went on to establish Dube Industries in 1929. It had a diverse portfolio of Construction, Finance and Share Market.
The Legend Amit Khanna is an Indian film executive, filmmaker, lyricist, poet, writer and journalist. A core member of Dev Anand‘s Navketan Films production house, Khanna served as executive producer of seven Hindi movies produced under its banner in the 1970s and 1980s.

Images: A History of Media and Entertainment in India that, “Undoubtedly, one of the all-time great studios in India was Bombay Talkies, established in 1934 by actor, producer and director Himanshu Rai, his wife, actress Devika Rani, and businessman Rajnarayan Dube,” says Khanna. Ashok Kumar, Bimal Roy, Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, S.D. Burman, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Ismat Chugtai, Kamal Amrohi and a host of others were associated with Bombay Talkies, which produced 115 films, including hits like Achhut Kanya.

Mr. Chandrashekhar Pusalkar Phalke, grandson of the father of Indian Cinema Dada Sahab Phalke said, “With the establishment and work culture of Bombay Talkies, Rajnarayan Dube has played a great historic role in nurturing and developing Indian film industry.
He gave it the form of an organised industry and made it to be accepted as a respectful form of art by the civilised society.” He further added, “Like Dada Sahab Phalke, Rajnarayan Dube also faced all kinds of conflicts and the result of his immense struggle is visible like a World Heritage Site in the form of Bombay Talkies today. He strongly affirmed, If Mr. Rajnarayan Dube was not there, there would be no Himanshu Rai, neither Devika Rani nor there would be Bombay Talkies.”
